THE VERSATILITY OF THE COLORED PENCIL

An expert specializing in simplifying the drawing process, Dooley is a favorite with beginners and seasoned artist alike because of his techniques for drawing seemingly complicated subjects. Various subjects and textures will be explored including colored pencil/oil pastels, water-soluble pencils, colored pencil over gesso, and colored grounds. References for projects will be provided but students may bring favorite photographs or work from objects of their choice.
David Dooley gives lessons in his rural wooded studio in the middle of cornfields and grazing horses. The quiet, private atmosphere helps the student feel relaxed and at ease.
